TUESDAY AFTERNOON AT THE MOVIES

Join us for TUESDAY AFTERNOON AT THE MOVIES (with video description)

When: Tuesday, April 21, 2026

RSVP: Suzie Tremolada 415-497-1532 or info@bvim.org

Where: Cinemark Century Rowland Plaza

44 Rowland Way, Novato 94947

Movie: TBA

Meeting Time: TBA

Cost: $8.50 (discounted tickets for all attendees)

Audio enhancement, video description and closed captioning devices are available at no cost.

Request them when purchasing your ticket.

How video description works:

  • Audio track: it is a secondary audio track that is added to the original movies audio.
  • Timing: The narration is timed to fit into the natural causes in the dialogue, so it doesn't interrupt the main audio.
  • Difference from closed captions: While closed captions are for people with hearing impairments, video descriptions are for those with visual impairment.

What a video description includes:

  • Setting: Descriptions of the environment where the scene takes place.
  • Actions: Narration of key actions and events that are happening on screen.
  • Visual details: Information about characters’ appearances, such as their clothing and body language.
  • Facial expressions: Descriptions of facial expressions and emotions to provide deeper context. Graphics and text.

Thank you to the VIM movie committee: Suzie Tremolada, Kevin Lent and DonnaLee Wells
